Area, perimeter and derivatives of a skin curve

The body defined by a finite collection of disks is a subset of the plane bounded by a tangent continuous curve, which we call the skin. We give analytic formulas for the area, the perimeter, the area derivative, and the perimeter derivative of the body. Given the filtrations of the Delaunay triangulation and the Voronoi diagram of the disks, all formulas can be evaluated in time proportional t...

Range Assignment of Base-Stations Maximizing Coverage Area without Interference

We study the problem of assigning non-overlapping geometric objects centered at a given set of points such that the sum of area covered by them is maximized. If the points are placed on a straight-line and the objects are disks, then the problem is solvable in polynomial time. However, we show that the problem is NP-hard even for simplest objects like disks or squares in R. Eppstein [CCCG, page...

Equipartitioning by a convex 3-fan

We show that for a given planar convex set K of positive area there exist three pairwise internally disjoint convex sets whose union is K such that they have equal area and equal perimeter. © 2009 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

Perspective of Mutual Recognition;Challenges and Mechanisms for Implementing it in the Area of European :::::::::union::::::::: Criminal Law

Abstract: Creation of new criminal law in the European ::::::::union:::::::: has led to an approximation of the criminal law of member states to each other. Compliance with this obligation for EU member states is due to the provisions of the Treaty of Lisbon. Main approach of the Treaty of Lisbon is to resort to the option of harmonizing the criminal laws of the member states, which is a new ch...

Compact Brownian surfaces I. Brownian disks

We show that, under certain natural assumptions, large random plane bipartite maps with a boundary converge after rescaling to a one-parameter family (BDL, 0 < L < ∞) of random metric spaces homeomorphic to the closed unit disk of R2, the space BDL being called the Brownian disk of perimeter L and unit area. These results can be seen as an extension of the convergence of uniform plane quadrangu...
